Mothur Workshop for Amplicon Analysis

Course Summary

We will conduct a workshop focused on analyzing MiSeq data with mothur, going through the mothur MiSeq workflow and demonstrating how to run analyses and store data on the HPCC.  This workshop is intended for anyone new to amplicon analysis or mothur or those who want to more efficiently analyze MiSeq data.

Applied Bioinformatics Workshop for the Beginner User

July 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30, and August 1; 8:00-11:45am
BPS, Michigan State University

Instructors: Dr. Robin Buell and various others

Applications must be received by June 5th for full consideration

Course Summary

For the "Beginner" training, participants will be instructed in the basics of next generation sequence analysis including sequence quality assessment, transcript abundance estimation, variant detection, genome and transcriptome assembly, and genome annotation. The beginner workshop will consist of a series of seven 4-hour sessions in July and August 2013.

Applied Bioinformatics Workshops for the Intermediate User

July 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 25 1; 8:00-11:45am

Course Summary

Workshops at the Intermediate level will include in-depth workshops on assembly, annotation, genome/transcriptome data visualization, variant detection, and advanced features of the HPCC and data management best practices. Each workshop will be held over one or two 4-hour sessions in July and August 2013.
