In order to maintain fair share CPU access on our shared development nodes, all user processes are 'niced' to a value of 19, which is the lowest priority and the highest niceness. This gives the best fairness and robustness for testing purposes, however it will potentially overestimate the execution time, depending on how heavily the development node is being utilized. Once an accurate/expected result has been achieved on a development node, consider submitting an interactive job to better assess timing accuracy. See 'man nice' on the systems for more information.
